Experimentarium Copenhagen

Experimentarium Copenhagen is Denmark's premier science center, reopened in 2017 after major expansion in a spectacular waterfront building in Hellerup, just north of Copenhagen. The center features 18 permanent exhibitions spread across multiple floors, all highly interactive and designed to make science accessible and fun. The Human Body exhibition explores anatomy, senses, and health through interactive displays where visitors test their balance, reaction time, and understanding of how bodies work. The Nature Lab examines Danish and global ecosystems. The Technology exhibitions showcase robotics, programming, and engineering challenges. The Creative Lab allows visitors to design, build, and test their own inventions. The Bubble Lab is a favorite where visitors create enormous soap bubbles and experiment with bubble physics. The Mini Experimentarium caters specifically to children aged 1-5 with safe, age-appropriate sensory and play experiences. The Tunnel is an immersive sound and light experience. The Soap Opera features daily shows with spectacular bubble demonstrations and science explanations. The rooftop area (weather permitting) features outdoor science activities and beautiful views of the Øresund strait. The Miniplex 3D cinema shows science films. Throughout the day, staff conduct demonstrations and workshops on various scientific topics. The center emphasizes learning through doing - visitors are encouraged to touch, experiment, and explore rather than just observe. The modern architecture with its distinctive blue building is notable, and the waterfront location provides pleasant surroundings. Cafés offer refreshments, and the shop sells educational toys and science kits.
